Penampilan Sifat Agronomi 9 Galur Mutan Harapan Sorgum Manis di 2 Lokasi Pengujian

Sorgum ( Sorghum bicolor (L) . Moench) disebut tanaman multiguna karena bijinya dapat digunakan sebagai sumber pangan, batang dan hijauan daun dimanfaatkan pakan ternak ruminanisa serta air nira bahan energi (bioethanol) minuman segar. Namun sorgum bukan asli Indonesia, oleh sebab itu, keragaman genetik masih terbatas. Upaya untuk peningkatan dilakukan dengan pemuliaan mutasi. Di Pusat Riset Teknologi Proses Radiasi (PRTPR), Organesasi Tenaga Nuklir (ORTN), Badan Inovasi Nasional (BRIN). Penelitian manis teknik mutasi induksi menggunakan sinar gamma bersumber dari Cobalt-60 dosis 300 Gy bertujuan mendapatkan mutan yang memiliki karakteristik pertumbuhan hasil lebih baik asalnya. Sejumlah 9 galur harapan yaitu GH1, GH2, GH3, GH5, GH6, GH7, GH9, GH10 GH38 disertakan 3 pembanding Cty-43 (induk), Samurai 1 varietas Numbu (kontrol nasional). Galur-galur tersebut pada musim kemarau 2020 penanaman di 2 lokasi Gunungkidul, Yogyakarta Citayam-Bogor. Metode percobaan rancangan acak kelompok ulangan. Parameter data terdiri beberapa karakter agronomi termasuk biji dianalisis ANOVA softwere komputer metode SAS versi 9.1. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa GH9 menghasilkan tertinggi Gunungkidul (8,37 t/ha) maupun Bogor (9.87 t/ha), GH5 produksi biomassa (75,47 (64,41 GH1 kadar (14.22 %) (12.53 % brix) berbeda nyata secara uji BNT 5% dibandingkan kontrol berturut-turut hanya 5.41, 5.23, 5.71 t/ha 6.22, 7.22, 7.89 t/ha. Biomassa 51.28, 53.60, 56.62 41.36, 44.40 52.33 Kadar 9.11, 9.62, 11.77 brix 8.96, 9.00, 11.32 brix.
